  • Create, store, share, or distribute created likeness of any person(s) without prior knowledge or permission is prohibited. Includes, but is not limited to, emojis, gifs, and memes.

  • Additionally, taking screenshots and sharing snippets of code or program material to solicit help or assistance in understanding a concept is permitted.

Other policies

The learning culture, we’re pursuing:

  • We are all polite and courteous, make sure you’re contributing.

  • Respectful is always the right approach.

  • Listen to members, staff, or mentors speak. We understand listening is a two-way process, thus we’re here not only to speak, but also to listen.

  • Avoiding negative words is a good practice. Instead use positive words in a negative form.

  • Make sure you’re using all our platforms appropriately. It is a great way to show respect to our efforts made to ensure the information flow.

  • Zero tolerance for cheating. Do tell if you see others' doing that.

Remote communication with peers and staff:

  • Set up your space: open up the camera on your laptop and see what’s visible in the background before the call, and check that you’re comfortable showing that on a video call (so put away your laundry and make sure whatever’s on your walls is appropriate). Oh, and you might also want to set up a virtual background, if you don’t have time to tidy up your space.

  • Check your appearance: dress how you would for an in-person meeting, and make sure your clothing does not contain any offensive image or messages.

  • Stay focused: Be attentive and engaged during the call. Don’t look at your phone and don’t eat! A sip of coffee, tee or water is all fine (as long as it’s not alcohol). Try to look into the camera when you talk. If you look at yourself or others on your screen, it may look like you’re looking at something else. When you’re not talking, make sure you’re paying attention to whoever’s speaking or sharing their screen and that you’re looking at any materials you may need to reference.

Violations may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to removal from the platform or even termination from Turing College.
